Leonizer Records is oh so incredibly excited to welcome Rodeo in the gang and you should be too. Here’s why. Rodeo, or Susie as most know her, is an award-winning songwriter, drummer and vocalist with a music career spanning almost a decade across three continents. She is a founding member of much-lauded Australian indie band I Heart Hiroshima that received much deserved attention from BBC, NME, Vice and all those big shots around the world. World that she extensively toured like a mad cat until, restless, she decided to leave Australia to set up in Berlin (via New York City). That’s where, equipped with only a laptop, soon followed by drum pads and other toys, she pushed her musical abilities in a new, electronic direction. Together with producer Darren Jenson (DJ Downtown) she combined the stripped-down indie aesthetic of her previous work with danceable electro beats on songs of a decidedly personal yet pop nature. RODEO was born. Ready to make kids dance. Today she becomes part of Leonizer Records with the release on September 17th 2012, of her two first EPs, so that you can dive deep into her world straight away. When It Reigns is a five-track collection that has been described as “like Nena slowly and sensually beating Annie Lennox over the head with a keytar” and Sold Me Out an intimate two-piece invitation to a beach-like rooftop where a cowboy serves you whiskey shots while you enjoy the sunset with your close friends. Throughout her career she has toured with Ratatat, Gang of Four, Maximo Park, The Rakes, Stereo Total, Cat Power, An Horse, The Rogers Sisters and shared stage with Peaches and Sia.
